1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit a site. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels and session IDs.
On the JDH Site, use is intentionally limited: no behavioural advertising or third-party analytics by default.
2. Who is responsible?
JDH Entretiens et Services — Abomey-Calavi, Womey, Bénin
Email: contact@jdhentretiensetservices.com
RCCM: RB/ABC/25 A 122704 dated 14-04-2025 — IFU: 0202334945658
For cookies / storage set by third-party platforms (WhatsApp, social networks), those platforms are responsible for their own processing.
3. Categories used on the Site
3.1. Strictly necessary / technical
Required for the Site to work or for security. No marketing consent is required, but you are informed.
- Cookie choice record (localStorage: jdh-cookie-consent)
- Light / dark theme preference (localStorage: jdh-theme) — stored when you use the toggle
- Language preference FR / EN (localStorage: jdh-lang) — stored when you switch language
- Form anti-spam protections (sessionStorage / send delays)
- Quote draft while filling the form (sessionStorage: jdh-quote-draft) — cleared when the session ends or after send
3.2. Additional functional preferences
No advertising preferences are enabled by default. Choosing “Accept” simply confirms you are informed of the technical storage above and of any third-party trackers if you leave the Site.
Choosing “Essentials only” does not prevent theme and language from being remembered (needed for consistent display).
3.3. Analytics / marketing
JDH does not, by default, deploy advertising cookies or third-party analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) on the Site.
If that changes, this policy and the banner will be updated, and consent will be requested before activation.
4. Third-party services and external trackers
When you use an off-site service, cookies or trackers may be set by that party:
- Host SMTP mail — when you submit a form (delivery to contact@jdhentretiensetservices.com)
- WhatsApp / Meta — if you open a WhatsApp chat
- Facebook, Instagram, TikTok — if you click through to our social pages
Those services apply their own policies. JDH does not control their cookies.
5. Retention
- Cookie consent: until withdrawal, a new choice, or browser clear (and at most a reasonable consent lifetime, typically 6–13 months — the banner may reappear)
- Theme / language: until you change or clear them
- Quote draft / anti-spam: browser session
- Third-party cookies: per each platform’s rules
6. How to manage your choices
- Via the cookie banner on first visit (or “Manage cookies” in the footer)
- Via your browser settings (block / delete cookies and local storage)
- Via the Privacy policy for all data processing
Refusing non-essential cookies does not prevent browsing or sending a quote request.
7. Legal basis
Strictly necessary storage (including theme and language) relies on legitimate interest / technical necessity to provide the requested service.
The banner records your choice for transparency; “Essentials only” does not clear theme or language.
Framework: Benin’s Digital Code (APDP) and principles aligned with GDPR / ePrivacy for transparency and consent.
8. Updates
This policy may be updated (new tools, legal changes). The update date above prevails.
A material change may trigger a new consent request.
